With extra eyes and hands around, I am thinking hoping I will find time to read a new book.
I need suggestions!
Please share.
I am really open to anything. It has been a few months since I've read a novel, but I always love a good one. Lately I've read mommy books and other Christian inspirational books. Anything is fair game.
What are your favorite books?
Recent good reads?
Please give me your input and pass on your wealth of knowledge.
I am already giddy at the thought of having quiet time in the pines of east Texas to get lost in a good book.
Talk about a vacation, mmmmmm! :)

Have you read the Atonement Child by Francine Rivers? Good book, but you will finish it fast because you won't want to put it down.
Have you read anything by Liz Curtis Higgs? I can't remember if I have told you about these books. Its a four-part series, but read the first one and I think you'll want to read the rest. The first one is called Grace in Thine Eyes. Awesome book! Here's her website: http://www.lizcurtishiggs.com/
Scroll down and you'll see the books.
Enjoy your break!
You definitely need to start reading Karen Kingsbury's Redemption series. You will get hooked...they are very good.
I like anything by Ann Patchett-- Bel Canto or Patron Saint of Liars are both good reads.
If you're looking to relax, I'd pick a novel. If you're looking for something that will change your life (in profound and challenging ways), I'd recommend Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne. You should read that one anyway. It should be recommended reading for every Christian.
Other than that? I spend a LOT of my time reading textbooks right now, so I don't have much time for pleasure reading! If you find something great, let me know!
I love all of the suggestions. Keep them coming. I'm going to search some of these on the web, hopefully tomorrow I can purchase one...or two...or three :)
I agree with the book by Francine Rivers. She has several good ones!
I hope you guys have a terrific time!!!
Jody is reading The Shack, and is loving it! Its fictional, but very spirt-filled. He can't put it down. Oh, and I think I am about to read Creative Correction, we could read that one together. :) I will miss you this week!
My mom just finished Shattered Dreams and I'm burrowing it right now. It's a memoir about a polygamist's wife. "The details of her harrowing experience will appall, astonish, and in the end greatly inspire. The dramatic story reveals how far religion can be stretched and abused, and how one woman and her children found their way into truth and redemption." Did I sale good or WHAT! Sounds interesting...huh? Happy Reading!

Nicolas Sparks writes the best books EVER!! I usually read them within 2 days so I have to check them out at the library rather than paying $20 a book!
Miss y'all!! Hope you're doing good :)
"The Hiding Place" by Corrie Ten Boom. True story of a believer who helped save hundreds during the Holocaust. its AMAZING.
THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME...by Mark Haddon...the character is autistic and the story is SOO interesting b/c it kinda gives you a glimpse of their mind! it was written by a guy that used to be a special ed teacher - its nice b/c you can pick it up and put it down easily :) Amy
I am reading Beth Moore's Jesus the One and Only. I love it and it has made this holy season more meaningful to me. I also recomend Created to be his Help Meet by Debi Pearl. Both are easy reads.
Ok-I'm probably too late, but I can't pass up talking about books! I love any and all Francine Rivers and agree with the comment about Karen Kingsberry's Redemption series and so on. I also love the book Peace Like a River by Lief Engram (I think this is the author unless I'm just making this up based on your last name:) It is beautifully written and is mainstream (we read it when I taught high school), but it is written by a Christian and has lots of undertones. It is not your typical book, but you will love it anyway! Happy reading
