The assignment: Write a letter to the person(s) that aided in leading you to the Lord.
Though the factors in my salvation are too numerous for one paragraph, I do believe there are a few people who I am due to thank for their role in showing me a true picture of Christ.
I accepted the Lord the summer in between my 5th and 6th grade year. My aunt Ramonda, always made it a point for me to attend their summer VBS. She has always been such a reflection of the Lord in my life. My family didn't really attend church much when I was young. Church was not foreign to me nor something we did on a regular basis. We were the typical Christmas and Eater family. In fact, I can remember moaning and groaning when we did have to attend our very boring church. Vacation Bible School was different. It was fun and they served a snack. I very clearly remember the two cookie rule and a cup of red Cool-Aid. One particular morning the pastor laid out the plan of salvation for us. I knew Jesus was real, I believed the stories I had heard about him and I wanted to know more. But until that moment, no one had ever mentioned the part about asking him to come and live in my heart.
I was so thrilled to be able to do this on that particular day.
The Timmons family was also very important in my life at this point. My elementary best friend Ashley, grew up in a wonderful family. Our weekends usually consisted of a Friday night stay at my house followed by spending Saturday nights at her house. Each Sunday morning we awoke and attended church with her family. Through that, I learned scripture, heard teachings and saw the importance of church attendance. I believe they were very intentional in taking me to church and allowing me to be a part of their family.
Shortly after, going to church with Ashley's family was not enough. I knew I needed to go with my own family. My parents were thrilled to hear this request from me. And so the journey began...
In a nut shell, that is my story of how I came to know the Lord.
Thankfully, he didn't stop there with me.
The Holy Spirit has continued to work in my life and teach me and grow me.
I wanted to extend a personal thank you to my aunt Ramonda for all she has done when I was knowingly and unknowingly observing her.
Also, thank you so much to Ashley Timmons Black and her precious family. You knew the value of taking your children to church on a regular basis and from that I learned so much.
Because of these people and many many more, I am able to share in the ministry that my husband and I are called to.
Because of these people and many many more, I will teach my children the truths of God.
Because of these people and many many more, I will serve the Lord all the days of my life!
Who do you owe a thank you to for openly sharing about the Lord?
Will you tell them?

Thank you for such sweet words about my family. My sister and I are the women of God we are because of my parents. Although we did not want to go to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday sometimes, I am so thankful we did. You don't realize what an impact God makes in your life while you are young, until you are grown up.
Thanks Jenifer.
I was hoping you and your family would see this and really understand what an impact you all had on my life and a very vital time.
I am VERY thankful for all 4 of you!
Ash,
I don't have many memories of elementary school without you in it, we had soo many fun times and I wouldn't give for any of them. Thank you for the precious note about my family. However, we can not take any credit, just the blessing that God used us as a tool and seed in your life. I love seeing what the Lord is doing through you, you are truly an awesome woman of God!!
Love you girl
