Two posts in one day. Wow. Brad is not home yet and I have nothing better to do. Actually, scratch that. I have better things to do, but nothing that I feel like doing.
Noah is the type of child that overhears an adult say something and then two weeks later throws that name or word or location into causal conversation. He has a stellar memory. During the Olympics, all he could talk about was Michael Phelps. It was Michael Phelps this and Michael Phelps that.
Several weeks ago we were driving and a country song came on the radio. He asked me if it was Allan Jackson singing.
Later that week, he asked me if I had seen The Beatles on TV. He went on to say that he watched them play two songs and really liked them.
On Wednesday, Sarah called to see if the kids and I wanted to join her and the girls for dinner. After I got off the phone, Noah asked who I had been talking to; I told him it was Sarah. "Oh, Sarah Palin?" he asked. Ummm, no. It was actually Sarah Wilson. From what I can recall, Sarah Palin didn't call me on Wednesday.
Today we were leaving Texas Roadhouse from having dinner with my dad. As we passed McDonalds, he and my dad had this conversation:
N: "Hey Pappy, I think we should go to a birthday party at Old McDongals" (he doesn't grasp the difference between the restaurant eating joint and the song)
Pappy: "You do? Who's birthday party would you like to go to?"
N: "How bout' John McCains"
Pappy: "Well, I guess if John McCain has a birthday party at McDonald's then we could probably make that happen."
Later in the evening, Noah asked this: "Does Obama like change?"
Whatthaheck?
Speaking of what the heck, I've heard that phrase come out of Noah's little mouth on more than one occasion. A few days ago, he was going to share a piece of his cereal bar with Kayt. He gave her a rather large piece expecting her to take a bite and give him the remainder. Of course, she shoved the entire thing in her mouth. He said "Whatthaheck! She ate my biggest piece!"
Crazy kid.
I think I need to watch what I say, don't you?

This is absolutely hysterical!! I even had to go back and read it aloud to Jeremy, we were both cracking up. What a memory! I love that you have a nice, sweet little Republican in the making! And asking if Sarah Palin called or if he could go to John McCain's birthday party at McDonalds? So great! You should definitely look into getting him My Dad, John McCain that Meghan McCain wrote. She has a blog she's writing about her book tour & campaigning: www.mccaingblogette.com
That is so cute and funny!!! I love when Noah talks about Sarah Palin and John McCain!! That's hilarious!!
Cute little guy! Wish i could hear him talking so much!!
That made my day!
Oh my gosh, what a hoot! That's when you realize you better be super careful about what's on tv. Hey Ashley, I was reading something about mouth sores in the paper today. Not sure if this is related to yours, but here goes: These type of sores are usually seen in people undergoing chemo. Neutropenia is a decrease in the number of circulating neutrophils, a type of infection-fighting white blood cell. The neutrophils decrease every 21 days naturally, often followed by infection and then count recovery, and is usually seen in infants and children. Many cases resolve without therapy. So basically your white blood cells must have been low, and when they're down you're prone to infections. Just a thought. I have a herpes virus in that space between my nose and mouth, and when I am stressed or sick it rears its ugly self.
My sores definitely come from stress. That is why I cannot seem to 'kick' them. I am not 'stressed' in the sense that I have too much going on, but just that my mind is going and going and isn't getting a rest.
Thank you for the info. I am finding out so much helpful info about these sores.
This is so precious and reminds me sooooo much of Park....Completely detail oriented and ready and willing to throw things out when I least expect it. Must be a first child thing? Except our what the heck is "You've got to be kidding me!"
First off, I love his Rangers uniform. Second off, I am laughing so hard and am actually truly amazed by his intelligence!!
You really better watch all that you say and all that he sees; you never know what he might say next!
that is awesome. lil genius! Thats funny kenz is 5 and although we correct every baby word they try to say weve never had the heart to correct the "old macdonalds" its so cute when we drive by to hear them shout it out. btw: so stoked about your upcoming trip in January. So excited to hear how that is. Hope all is well.
This post was fabulous. I love that little dude. Every time I see him at "school" he makes me smile. He's just too cool! Ella just keeps talking about dragons, ghosts, and witches. Haha...yep I'm the best mom ever and let my daughter watch super wholesome stuff! (It's really just from all of the disney princess movies like sleeping beauty...well the ghost thing is from an episode of clifford.) :)
