on the baby news.
I am twelve weeks along (and some change) and due mid-ish December. Our very own early Christmas gift!
I'm not feeling too hot. I mean, some days are better than others. Heck, some hours are better than others, but I'm sure that having two little ones, packing, moving, re-doing a house and preparing to be at high school camp next week may also have something to do with the sleepy, nauseated feeling that keeps coming over me. I've found a new friend in Zophran.
We were not planning this pregnancy. In fact, we were planning to not have a pregnancy for at least another year, but here we are. God knows us and we are really excited to expand our family tree again. It's amazing how a little life begins to stir so much excitement inside of you so quickly.
Due to early 'issues' (we will call them) that God healed, I have had several sonograms and there is ONE baby. Yes, one. And not that I am biased, but it's a cute little freak (please hear my sincere love and affection when I say 'freak'). It flails his/her arms and waves like mad each time I look at the screen. I love that little nugget.
Every time we have bought a new house I have been pregnant. I DO know that there are better ways of getting out of painting, but why change what's worked, ya know? Kidding.
This will more than likely be our last baby. Not 100% guaranteed since we've yet to control that aspect of our life, but again... more than likely. With that said, you may get more baby pictures/tracking/progress than you would like. Just roll your eyes, click the red X on the top left corner of your screen and carry on with your day. Kidding again. Just humor me for six more months.
Now....
I need your help.
I have to come up with a good color for our den by THIS weekend. I need help finding a good, neutral color. It doesn't have to be beige, I'm open to other colors, but it needs to be fairly light. The room has no natural lighting (yuck) and I want to keep it as open and fresh as possible.
So lemme have em'. Please give me the color name and brand.
My brain is working a bit slower than normal and I just cannot seem to find anything that catches my attention. Hence, I need YOU!

When we moved here last year, I wanted contemporary neutrals. I'm not a huge fan of traditional beige, but I wanted the color to blend as well as look up to date.
Here are my fave light neutrals for paint colors grouped by color. Searching for colors with a gray undertone makes it look modern. For a more traditional neutral, look for brown undertones.
Behr (from Home Depot) Flat or Eggshell Interior finish:
Bue: Rhino (our master bedroom color)
Gray: Granite Boulder (living room color)
Taupe: Castle Path (office and half bath)
There is a lot of natural light in my house, so you might look at the swatch one step lighter from these if they seem too dark for you.
Hope this helps!
I forgot the green: It's called Ocean Pearl. It's a chameleon color (meaning it looks like several colors in different lights), but it has worked awesome in our entryway and hallways upstairs. I love it!
Our entire house is Blonde from Sherwin Williams. It's yellow...but it is neutral. We had Relaxed Khaki from Sherwin Williams in our last house and I loved that too.
By the way, we went to Sherwin Williams to pick out paint colors and as we were picking up each little strip of paint colors that we were interested in, we discovered that you can buy the entire fan of every paint color they have for $9.99 and then you can take it back if you want (we kept it...you never know when you will want a new paint color). I also found that the colors turned out lighter than they appeared to be on the strip. We ended up having to go a shade darker on the original color we picked out.
congrats Ashley! Have a healthy 6 more months!! He or she will be adorable and truly blessed arriving into y'all's family :)
hmmm...colors. For some reason I keep picturing a khaki green type color.
martha stewart: chardonnay bottle or kyoto green
behr: grape leaves or jungle trail
Congratulations on the baby! I think 3 kids would be ideal.
For paint choices we just painted our entryway and dining room in a green khaki color. I really like how it turned out.
The color is Behr- Lion (from Home Depot) I think it is a light enough color for the room if you dont have a lot of natural lighting. Can't wait to see pictures of yalls new house!
Our old living room was Ancient Marble by Sherwin Williams, I think. We have a fan-dex of Benjamin Moore colors, but I'm pretty sure that one was Sherwin Williams. It's beige-y with a little bit of green in it.
Congrats again on the pregnancy!
P.S. - You'll like having your kids so close in age. My sister is 16 months older than me and my brother is 15 months younger than me and we're all really close :)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, how exciting! I need to catch up - you are on # 3 and I don't even have one yet!
Anyway, regarding colors......I think that the color Denae used for her house (the buttery cream) is gorgeous and works well if you have a lot of natural light in the room your painting.
I also have a good rec. for a darker khaki/brown color. I'll e-mail it to you (if I can find your e-mail address on here......if it's not on your page, shoot me a quick e-mail at littlepinkshadetree@gmail.com and I'll e-mail you right back w/ a photo). *I can find out the name of the color, but at the moment all I have is a picture.
CONGRATS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Okay - found the name of the color.
Sherwin Williams
Foothills
(Flat)

The color on the website doesn't do it justice though.....we've used this in several of our apartment models and it is beautiful! Let me know if you want me to e-mail you the picture. :)
Ashley! I'm not much help in the paint department, but I just wanted to say Congratulations! What a blessing to be expecting another sweet baby in December! Can't wait to hear all about him/her!
Was going to say that the color in Magen's living room is fantastic, but she beat me to it! Good luck with the rest of your move/painting!
We just had our whole house painted Kilim Beige from Sherman Williams. It looks great with white trim. I am going to do some accent walls, but I chose it because it goes with almost everything, and it's easy to change out accesories with it.
Zofran is great, sort of! I took it all the time with both of my pregnancies. I have Sherwin Williams Ancient Marble in my living room and halls and it is sort of a grey and green and tan. does that make sense? I love it and get several comments on how soothing it is. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
i'm glad you wrote this blog :) very helpful!

I am SO excited for you and Brad!!! That is just fabulous!!!
Our house is painted in the Sherwin Williams Blond also! It can be a bit yellow for me at times, but the other rooms are different, so that helps. I just found this color I want to paint my office:
Valspar (Lowe's)
Jekyll Grand Dining Sea Mist
It is a gorgeous subdued greyish blue/green. I LOVE it.
We will be praying that you have a radiant pregnancy and that God gives you the strength to get through all of the craze in the next few weeks!! Love you lots.
we just painted our living/dining/kitchen/hallway (the rooms are all open and close so we had to find a color that would work for a larger space.)
we used Kilz from Wal-Mart - and it the color name is "antiquarian brass" - yellowish color but a rich yellow not nursery yellow...i have one of those if you need that as well though!! :)
congrats on Ingram to the 3rd!! I keep telling Jody & Sarah they can't break the kids ages on #3 - I don't think they find that to be a valid reason!
Oh, my! I go on vacation, come back and you have BIG BIG NEWS! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you my friend. Your little ones will be so close, which makes for perfect little playmates. I was nevous having mine so close together, but, the Lord knows better than we do. And He proves that over and over to me everyday with my two. You are such a good mommy already. And your love for your little ones is sooo apparent. Our God must think an awful lot of you to give you this special little blessing at this time. God Bless You! And keep us all updated!
Hey Ash, Congrats! That is very exciting news! You and Tiff must have gotten preggo around the same time. That will be fun to have someone go through all the stages with you.
Also, regarding the paint color if you like the color we used in our house it's called August Moon. It's that kind of golden color. It has been a very warm pleasant color for us. I have not gotten sick of it yet and it goes great with dark woods.
I hope to see y'all sometime soon!
COngrats on baby number 3! Thanks for the encouraging words on the vacation away from my baby. I am really excited and we will have a blast. I'll blog about it soon.
The name of that fabric store in "The Muse' it is down on 6th street. You may not find it great, but I love it, and their prices are good for the quality you are getting!
Congrats!! As far as color goes I would try a Khaki cream with a white trim if possiable very safe color I know but also very clean looking.
OMGosh, I am so far behind! Congratulations! I am so happy for yall! If you need any help at all Ashley, please just let me know! Love you
