I had made the decision to make my blog private. But to make a blog private, one can only invite one hundred readers. Between the comments, phone calls, emails, and facebook messages I would have to eliminate over seventy of you sweet souls from reading this lil' blog. That was not my intention. I have enjoyed the 'community' that has come from this place. I gain so much from you all.
My motive for switching to a private blog was merely for protection. Mainly, I do not want my blog to pull up in search engines. I do not like the idea of my name being googled and my blog (with thoughts and glimpses into my life) pulling up for the world to easily access. It's the easy access part that I don't like. I can deal with access, just not easy access.
I think I have reached a new decision.
I am going to change our blog's URL so that it does not include any part of our name. It is for protection and will keep my family from being too easily accessed, yet it will allow our blog to be public and still read by more people than a private blog allows.
Sometime this week, I will email you with our new URL. From there, you can continue reading our public blog under a new name.
If you have not already left your email address for me, please do so. I will not be posting the new URL on here, I will only be emailing it to the addresses that I have.
Thank you for wanting to continue to look into our life!

I wonder if you could create your own blog in wordpress or something like that and if that would make it less likely to pop up in searches? Or just creat a new blog and don't add your name it it anywhere?
When I first started my blog, I really tried to make sure nothing had our last name on it...but that kind of went out the window when I started a business that has my full name in it. I do understand where you are coming from though.
I also wanted to say that when I switched my photography blog from a blogspot blog to a wordpress blog, I was able to bring over all my old posts to the new blog. You may want to look into doing that if you want to delete this one, but not lose all the posts. I can't remember how I did it now...but I do remember that it was super easy.
I totally understand about the privacy. I have enjoyed reading your blog, I've been following for a while-I came over during a time when you were doing prayer for your husband. That helped me in so many ways. I would love to continue to follow your blog. I don't know where you want me to leave my email address but if you would let me know I would give it to you. HAPPY BLOGGING
In blogger you can change it in your settings to where your blog will not be found in search engines.
If you go to "settings" and then click on the "basic" tab at the top. (it's the first one so it's usually the one that comes up) The fourth or fifth question down is Let search engines find your blog. Just switch that to no.
Hope this helps!!
You are so wise!
Ashlan, I have tried that and it hasn't worked for me. It may for some people, but for some reason mine has not worked as it should. I even researched a bit and found a code that was supposed to make search engines 'crawl' past your blog, but that didn't work either. Too bad too, that would have been an easier solution.
I don't blame you! I recently pulled all of the pictures of the kids off the blog and FB because they were too easily accessed. I figure people hear enough about the two of us that it is fine ... but fell like I need to keep the kids private and away from everything.
Ashley--I don't know if you remember me or not (I think we're friend on facebook!) from D-Now at Germantown Baptist, but I found your blog a while ago and really enjoy reading it! My email is ashleegladson@gmail.com--I would love to continue the journey! :) I have my own blog too, if your interested. I don't update too often, but it's usually pretty good when I do! :) It's www.ashleeinaction.blogspot.com.
Hi
You don't really know me (I did know who your husband was in high school) but I stumbled upon your blog about a year ago and I have loved following you. Your prayer for your husband was so very helpful to me and very encouraging. If you don't mind I would still like to follow your blog. My email address is ebethracca@yahoo.com. I hope you let me, but if not I completely understand!
Hi, I'm another lurker who would love to continue to follow your family. I discovered your blog awhile ago, but kept coming back because of your humor and faith. I have three kids as well. Please email me the link if/when you move your journal. sarahmeitner(a)hotmail.com. Thanks, and good luck to you!
Please add me to your email list:
jpayne1210@sbcglobal.net
Thanks!
Jenifer
