The living room.
Also known as the couch laying, television watching, toy playing, diaper changing, wrestling rink, piano playing room.
This room was ALL paneling. It also had avocado green carpet. Eck.
I don't have a picture of it with full paneling, but you can imagine how dark it must have been since it had NO lighting? Oh, I forgot to mention that it had no lighting? Well then, it had NO lights.
This wall with a window...
...became these doors that lead to the sun room.
This outdated bookshelf...
...blends in nicely now.
Actually, reworking the items on this built-in is on my project list for the coming months. I put up random items to fill space and have never been happy with it.
Look at the sweet swinging baby.
This was obviously post paneling and after the carpet was removed.
This was post taping the seems, but mid-texturing.
You can see that we are working by lamp light.
And PRAISE JESUS, we had the popcorn ceilings scraped.
ta-da!
Now, we can see one another clearly with our lovely canned lighting that functions on a dimmer switch. Fancy stuff!

Girl, y'all have done so much with this place. WOW! It's really comming together too. I bet it's feeling more like home now. I loved your weekend 10 post below. Cute way to recap the week/weekend. I do my week (or high lights of my week) in pictures. But, I like this. Hope y'all are having a great week! Blessings.
Yall have done such a wonderful job! Everything looks just beautiful.
Man, I didn't realize how much work you guys had done. But, I was looking closely at the book shelf the other day when we were at your house. Did you just paint over the stain and then sand it in places... it had a rustic look right? or am I thinking of something else. I have a stained coffee table that I don't really like the color of.
Fun to see before and afters. Your house looks great! I forgot to take before pics of my grandparents' house. I regret that a lot.
Missy, we primed and painted it. I sanded it with the intentions of rubbing stain over it to make it look more like a piece of furniture, but I have never gotten around to the staining part. So what you saw was only sanded, yes you are right about the rustic look.

Yes, Kari, I wish we had better before pictures too. At the time, I wanted to forget what it looked like. Now, I regret it. All of the pictures that I have are after hours of work, but still give a pretty good idea.
Nice job on the remodel! I'm pretty sure we have the exact same couch and loveseat! We must have good taste!! :)
well, I liked it!
