While I was out of the car, she locked the doors. The keys were inside. Dang it.
She proceeded to crawl into the back seat and buckle herself into her car seat. She is Miss Independent and LOVES to buckle her own car seat.
I had to call a locksmith to come unlock my car and get my child out.
This was not the first time I have done this. I locked Noah in the car when he was about eighteen months old. The second time around is not near as traumatic on mama. I was calm as a cucumber and Kayt was a trooper until a big burly man walked up to her window and began prying. Poor baby.
I think I have officially disqualified myself from any mother of the year awards there may be. At least for the next eighteen years.

Don't worry, it won't be the last time somethng happens.....
I locked my middle daughter in the car twice. Of course, the worst was when we were leaving the pediatrician's office and she was still upset from her shots. The locksmith took forever that day. Needless to say, I stopped putting the keys on the seat when I put baby in the carseat. Still to this day, I put my keys in my pocket while I am loading the car. I have the entry number pad on my current car and it is wonderful.
well then I win too as I let my child pull a chair over to the stove and pretend to cook on the stovetop... ( I recognize this is NOT a good lesson)... but the really poor mother part was where the chair slipped out from under him and he fell.
then he did it again about an hour later.
yeah... I definitely win mother of the year
Ashley, I think it'd be fun to follow you for a day. :)
I am sure something similar will happen to me in the near future. No matter how much I prepare I it will probably happen.
I am out for the MOTY award too then. I locked Kade in the car at the mall in Lubbock when he was 9 months old. He just sat there and smiled at me while I cried my eyes out.
